Creating and Using iBooks Textbooks: What You Need to Know

Apple has posted a series of information pages and videos about their newly announced iBooks textbooks, iBooks Author e-book creation tool.

The first of these pages provides a rundown of the new digital textbook format, what it is capable of, and how it can benefit students and teachers alike by re-inventing the textbook and making material easier to navigate and relate to. The page also includes the same emotionally-laden video shown by Apple during the event.

The second page explains more about iTunes Author, providing additional details into what is needed to create and submit books to the iBookstore, going over some of the included templates, the user interface, and customization options. The page also includes a video explaining the new tool.

Finally, Apple has provided a detailed FAQ article in their knowledge base providing specific answers to questions that most people might have about their new platforms and how the entire submission process will work.
