Quicken Essentials Hits the Mac App Store

Quicken Essentials, a slimmed down version of the full program, has launched in the U.S. Mac App Store ($49.99, link), reports MacGeneration. The last version of Quicken was still using PPC code, so this update, even though it is not the complete package, might give us a taste of what’s to come.

The application is currently only available in the US app store at the moment, but we should presumably see it appear in other stores over the coming days. This is a pretty barebones version of the original Quicken, a very popular personal finance organiser, but we should expect a new Lion compatible version soon, possibly in the spring.
