The Fifth Anniversary of the iPhone Launch: A Look Back

Five years ago today, the world saw the launch of a revolutionary device in the iPhone that would change nearly everything. It introduced apps, which created a whole new industry, multi-touch and a new style of phone that is today’s industry standard.

Since the original launch, four new iPhones have come out, from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 4S. All brought great new features to the world, ranging from Siri to the A4 and A5 chips.

No single phone as really dominated the market like the iPhone (a part from maybe the Nokia 3210), and so it’s worth remembering what a phenomenal achievement the original iPhone was and what a change it was from the smartphones that were available back in the day.
