LaCie Releases ‘2big’ Thunderbolt Equipped Storage Device

Following the Little Big Disk, LaCie has released a new Thunderbolt equipped hard drive called the 2big which packs a real punch, both in terms of data transfer speeds but in terms of storage. It uses two 3.5 inch hard drives and a RAID configuration, and comes in 4TB and 6TB sizes.

Starting at $649, this isn’t a cheap bit of kit, but with the Thunderbolt ports that can give you transfer speeds of 340MB/s (670MB/s when daisy-chained), and the ability to link up several of these into one long daisy chain, it’s probably one of the best storage systems around.
