Google Hires Apple’s Senior Product Quality Executive for ‘Secret Project’

Google has hired Apple’s Senior Director of Product Integrity, Simon Prakash, for a top secret project, VentureBeat reports. This represents quite a move for Google, as it is the first time they have managed to take a senior executive away from Apple.

Prakash had been at Apple for eight years. His most recent role at the company has been to oversee product quality across all Apple’s devices. Before Apple, Prakas worked at Cielo Communications and 3Com.

This is a smart move by Google: could hiring somebody who specializes in product quality mean that Google wants to start producing their own hardware?
