‘Unusual’ February Apple Event? Not Gonna Happen.

Following a report earlier today from Macotakara claiming that Apple would hold an “unusual” event in February, well-connected Apple pundit Jim Dalrymple calls foul, saying that no such event is planned.

Macotakara’s second claim, however, that Apple’s iPad 3 event will be held in March, is considerably more likely. But many have been widely expecting a March or April iPad 3 release for some time. Bloomberg reports that iPad 3 production began in January, which would put the device on track for a Q1 2012 release.

In the end, this is just another ding on Macotakara’s track record. There will be no Apple event in February, unusual or otherwise. The Beard has spoken. Dalrymple has an excellent track record for squashing such rumors.
