A Single Retina iPad Icon Has More Pixels Than The Entire Original Mac!

Technology has come an extremely long way over the years, and the Retina display on the iPad is the most incredible display of its size ever put in a consumer product. But just how far have we come? According to some eye-opening comparison images posted by Gizmodo, a single Retina iPad icon has more pixels than the entire screen on the original Mac!

While the actual Retina icons displayed on an iPad are 144px in size, Apple requires developers to submit 512 x 512px icons, presumably to make sure icons are sufficient for future releases of the iPad as well. Even so, it’s pretty spectacular, considering that the original Mac only had a 512 x 342 pixel display!
