‘Draw Something’ by OMGPOP Takes iOS By Storm

Every once in a while, a blockbuster app comes along that gets millions of downloads and gets to number one in the charts for weeks on end. We’ve had Angry Birds, Flight Control and many more. Now it’s the turn of ‘Draw Something’ by OMGPOP.

The developers told TechCrunch that their app now has over 25 million registered users, and nearly 1 billion ad impressions a day, as well as 10 million daily users. For something that launched just five weeks ago, it’s almost unprecedented.

The game, which is a modified version of Pictionary, allows you to take on your friends in a drawing challenge. They have to guess what your drawing is of, and vice versa. It’s very simple, but clearly very popular and online game maker Zynga are reportedly already planning a bid potentially worth up to $250 million for OMGPOP. I’d say that’s some decent work for five weeks.
