Angry Birds Space Hits 50 Million Downloads In 35 Days, Rovio Says ‘Something Bigger is on its Way’

Rovio has published a blog post which should get all Angry Birds fans excited. Not only have they revealed that the new Angry Birds Space was downloaded a record-breaking 50 million times in 35 days, but they’ve also dropped a huge hint that they are planning something much bigger for the future. While they haven’t given details, it’s certainly very enticing. Cue rumors please!

Coming back to the first stat, that’s pretty amazing. 50 million downloads in 35 days, means, if you do the math, about 1,428,571 downloads a day. That’s about 60,000 downloads an hour or 1000 downloads a second.

Angry Birds’ success has been phenomenal across the board, so much so that by the time your here, another 1000 Angry Birds Space games would have been downloaded. The promise of something bigger is something to drool over, but how could they possibly do better than what they’ve already done? We’ll have to see what they have in store. My hunch? It’s not Angry Birds, it’s a completely brand new game.
