Apple Files Complaint To WIPO For ‘Applecom.com’ and ‘Appleprinters.com’ Domains

Apple has filed a complaint to the World Intellectual Property Organization to gain ownership of two domains, applecom.com and appleprinters.com, The Next Web reports. I would avoid visiting those if I were you.

Interestingly, as The Next Web points out, Apple seemx to have inconsistent behaviour when it comes to protecting its trademarks from domain name squatters. They don’t own iPad.com or Macbook.com, and Barnes & Noble owns iBooks.com.

Even though they did buy iPhone.com in 2007 and claimed ownership of iPods.com, it is still strange for a company that big not to worry about typosquatters.
