Review: Zero 5 PRO Clear Case for iPhone 4/4S

I am always in search of the next best case for my iPhone 4S. I have tried leather cases, (DON’T try to handle the case while eating pizza!) rubberized cases (man those things gather lint,) and hard plastic cases (should your iPhone case cut you when you handle it?) Now I get to try out the Zero 5 PRO Clear Case from Caze. Will it stay on my iPhone longer than the usual 3 days? Let’s find out.

Overview

The Zero 5 PRO Clear Case is composed of a 0.5mm back plate and an ultra-thin rubber frame. It’s a one-piece design that is designed to shield your iPhone 4 from dust, scratches and bumps.

The case includes a Dock Connector port cover and headphone port cover built-in to the case. Included in the package are front and back screen protectors, a cleaning cloth, and a wallet sized stand.

Placing the iPhone into the case is simple as pie. The flexible sides of the case easily allow insertion of the phone, and snugly fit around the device, hugging it with enough pressure to ensure the case won’t fall off. The clear back of the case beautifully displays the back of your iPhone while keeping it protected from scratches and dust.

All of the buttons and switches are easily accessible, either through generous cut-outs, or via snap-tight covers. The covers go over the dock connector and the headphone port. They are attached to the case so they can’t be lost, and easily snap onto the ports, sealing them to keep out dust and moisture.

Verdict

I like the way this case is able to easily protect my iPhone. It has a minimum of bulk, so the phone is still easily carried in small pockets and it still fits in the small cubby hole in my car where I place my phone when driving.

The case is a good value for the money, ($19.90), and it looks like it will last for awhile. The additional accessories included with the case, front and back screen protectors, a cleaning cloth, and a wallet sized stand, add to the value of the item.

This case will be staying on my iPhone for the foreseeable future. Bravo. The Zero 5 PRO Clear Case is available from Caze at their website in black, clear and white for $19.90

Rating:4/5[rating:4]

Pros:

  • Easy to install
  • Even though the grips around the edge of the phone are soft, they don’t attract as much lint as similar cases.
  • The clear back shows off your device, while still protecting it.
  • The included accessories add to an already great value.

Cons:

  • It would be nice if this model case came with other colors for the grips around the edges. (My wife’s request.)
  • The connector port sometimes gets in the way with some docks and power adapters. A necessary evil, I suppose.
