Apple and Disney Discuss Bringing WatchESPN App To Apple TV

Disney is reportedly willing to consider a deal which would see the WatchESPN app be transitioned from iOS to the Apple TV platform, potentially allowing ESPN subscribers to watch the internet service right from their TV.

Bloomberg reports:

“We’re a platform-agnostic content company,” Sean Bratches, the network’s executive vice president of affiliate and advertising sales, said today in an interview. “To the extent that in the future there’s an opportunity with Apple to authenticate through the pay-TV food chain as we’re doing with Microsoft, that’s something that we will participate in.”

ESPN in the most watched sports network in the US, and the ability to get it on your Apple TV would be yet another selling point for the device, so hopefully Apple will give it further consideration to please all the sports fans.
