Google Launches Completely Redesigned Search App for iOS

Google has launched a completely redesigned version of their iOS app with a ton of changes for the iPhone, including a completely new design, speed improvements, full-screen image browsing, quick access to Google Apps, and more.

What’s New in Version 2.0.0

New on iPhone
✓ Complete redesign
✓ Major speed improvements
✓ Auto full screen: scroll down to hide controls, scroll up to reveal
✓ Beautiful full-screen image search
✓ Swipe away webpages to quickly return to search results
✓ Search within a webpage using the built-in text finder
✓ Easily switch between images, places, news, and more
✓ Fast access to Google apps like Gmail, Calendar, Docs and more all from one place

New on iPad and iPhone
✓ Save images to your camera roll

A similar iPad-focused redesign was released last year, leaving Google’s attention turned to the iPhone this time around. The new interface looks great, and seems a great deal snappier and easier to use than the previous version.

Google Search 2.0 is available immediately from the App Store (free, App Store link).
