Supposed ‘iPhone 5’ SIM Card Tray Emerges, Seems Identical To iPhone 4S

After the claimed iPhone 5 button that appeared on sale just over a week ago, it’s the turn of another supposed iPhone 5 part, the SIM card tray, to appear on sale. Available via parts supplier SW BOX, it seems to be identical to the iPhone 4S part, which suggests that it’s either just an iPhone 4S part rebranded or that Apple hasn’t changed the flat edged form factor for their next gen phone.

If it’s the latter of those two explanations, it would certainly disappoint many Apple fans who are eagerly anticipating a new design, possibly involving a LiquidMetal casing and a brand new form factor.

All leaks of this kind should be taken with a pinch of salt, as it’s probably just a company wanting to boost their profile by claiming they have iPhone 5 parts. Nobody knows for sure until the launch day, which many estimate will be in the traditional September to October timeframe.
