Two Huge New Vulnerabilities Found For iOS 5.1 Jailbreak

Well-known iOS hacker pod2g provided a huge update on the iOS 5.1 jailbreak effort yesterday through his Twitter account, revealing that he has discovered 2 “big vulnerabilities” that will assist with the jailbreak.

The updated comes shortly after pod2g posted a public poll on his blog asking whether he should hold off on the jailbreak to wait for iOS 6. The thought here is that releasing an iOS 5.1 jailbreak will probably result in the exploits being patched in iOS 6. Most voters, however, think he should proceed with the iOS 5.1 jailbreak.

There’s still no specific word on when the jailbreak will be available to the general public (although significant progress is being made), but pod2g has previously stated that the jailbreak should arrive in around 1-2 months.
