Apple has just rolled out a new software update for the 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV models, bringing the version number up to 5.0.2. The update doesn’t appear to contain any new features or significant changes, and is likely focused on bug fixes.
The update comes less than a month after the previous 5.0.1 update, and carries a build number of 9B83. The 5.0.2 update is available immediately through the Software Update section of the Apple TV firmware (Settings > General > Update Software).
Apple has yet to release details about the update through their Software Update webpage, but we’ll let you know if we find anything interesting once the release notes have been posted.
