Report: iPad Mini to be As Thin as an iPod Touch, Manufactured in Brazil, and Available by Year’s End!

There have been an abundance of reports recently about Apple’s rumored 7.85-inch iPad mini – including reports from typically reliable major sources such as Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal! A new report has surfaced over the weekend claiming to provide additional details, backing up previous claims that production for the device will ramp up in September, and claiming that the device will be manufactured at Foxconn’s Brazilian facilities.

The tablet called iPad mini will be produced in Brazil, however production test to collect data for new cutting machine is already done in China. Source said that, production phase of this tablet will be started since September, and this tablet should be shipped until holiday season, but announcement will not be so soon. The report’s claim that production will ramp up in September backs up The Wall Street Journal’s recent report, with Bloomberg taking the claim even further, claiming that the smaller iPad could be announced as early as October.

Aside from the claims over production, the report also provides supposed details about the design of the smaller iPad, noting that it is slightly wider by comparison than current 7 or 8 inch tablets, and is expected to be extremely thin – as thin as a current iPod touch!

Finally, the report backs up other recent claims, stating that the “iPad Mini” should be available in time for the holiday shopping season. It’s worth noting that while Macotakara doesn’t have a perfect record, they are typically fairly accurate.

The iPad Mini is looking more likely than ever at this point. Even so, it’s worth keeping such claims at arms length until credible part leaks begin appearing – or until Apple announces the product themselves!
