Microsoft Webcast to Take Place At Noon PDT, Office For iPad On Its Way?

Microsoft has just announced a webcast for 12PM PDT where Steve Ballmer will ‘share the news’ on the latest happenings at Microsoft. As noted by The Verge, TechCrunch, and others, the event is likely to revolve around a new version of Microsoft Office, although other things may be announced as well.

Microsoft recently launched the Office Next blog, which further fueled suspicions that their office suite might be among the topics for discussion, although rumors have also been circulating for some while that Microsoft might release a version of Office for iPad.

Of course, nobody knows for sure what Microsoft will announce. There are a lot of potential topics: XBox, Windows Phone, Windows 8, Office, and so forth. In any event, we’ll let you know if we hear of anything significant that might apply to Apple users.

You can watch the event live on Microsoft’s website here when it starts.
