Major Twitter for iOS Update Coming Soon, With Tons of Huge Improvements!

Twitter’s official iOS app has a lot of competition, and it’s not always thought of as the best Twitter client available – but according to some new release notes leaked through the iOS 6 update mechanism (discovered by 9to5Mac), it’s about to get a whole lot better, with a plethora of new features!

Improvements in the updated Twitter app will include push notifications for tweets, improved interactivity and searching, significant performance improvements, and more. The new redesigned Twitter bird will also be making an appearance!

It appears that the update may only apply to the iPhone for now (although that is not confirmed), which is in line with how Twitter’s updates usually work – iPhone first, and then the iPad. The leak appears to be a bug in the way the current iOS 6 beta handles app updates.

You can check out the full release notes over at 9to5Mac. We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear the update is released. In the meantime, you may want to download Twitter for iOS from the App Store so you’re ready when the update hits!
