27 inch iMac Shortages Hint At Autumn Refresh

We’ve heard a lot of iPhone rumors, and with MacBooks updated at WWDC, other Macs have gone out of the limelight. However Apple Bitch reports that major retailers including Amazon and Best Buy are seeing shortages of the 27 inch iMac which could suggest an update to come at an event this autumn.

Apple Bitch:

J&R, a major Apple reseller, are completely out of stock of the high end 27 inch model and Amazon is out of stock of the lower end 27 inch model, and has very low stock of the high end 27 inch model. Why all of these stock shortages are only affecting the 27 inch model is unclear.

It might just be a coincidence, but the iMac is in desperate need of an update: it still runs on Sandy Bridge processors and hasn’t been upgraded in over a year, so we could well be seeing something new sooner rather than later.

If you’re considering buying a new iMac, I would definitely hold the wallet for a little longer just to see what happens. You’ll feel terrible if a month after you buy an iMac a brand new, faster one comes out.
