Bob Mansfield to Remain at Apple, Craig Federighi and Dan Riccio Promoted to Senior VPs

Apple today announced a few management changes within the company, with Craig Federighi and Dan Riccio (Apple’s VPs of Mac Software Engineering and Hardware Engineering, respectively) being promoted to Senior Vice Presidents.

Even more interesting, Apple states that Bob Mansfield, who announced his retirement in June, will not actually retire, but will remain at Apple. Mansfield will oversee the development of “future products,” and will report directly to Tim Cook.

It’s unclear what sort of projects Mansfield might be working on, or what his new title might be (Dan Riccio has now assumed Mansfield’s previous title), but the fact that he will be reporting directly to Cook on future products is interesting to say the least.

The full press release can be read at Apple’s PR page.
