Steve Jobs’ Home Burglarized, $60,000 of ‘Computers and Personal Items’ Stolen

Steve Jobs’ Home Burglarized, $60,000 of ‘Computers and Personal Items’ Stolen

In a recent burglary at the Silicon Valley home of Steve Jobs and his family, a suspect made off with more than 60,000 worth of “computers and personal items”. Fortunately, the shameless burglar was arrested and charged with burglar, and with selling stolen property.

Mercury News reports:

Not even the home of Silicon Valley legend Steve Jobs has escaped a Bay Area-wide upswing in residential burglaries. But unlike a majority of those crimes, a suspect is in custody […] More than $60,000 worth of “computers and personal items” were allegedly stolen, but Flattery declined to say whether they belonged to Jobs, who died last year at the age of 56, or another family member.

The burglary actually took place on July 17th, but reports were only released on the incident this morning after the suspect was arrested and charged with his crimes over the incident. Laurene Powell Jobs and family were likely not living in the home at the time as the property was undergoing renovations (as pictured above via Forbes).

The home was surrounded with a temporary construction barrier at the time, which may have made the home a more appealing target. Interestingly, the thief was seemingly aware that the home belonged to the Jobs family.
