New iPods and 3rd-party Lightning to 30-pin Adapters Have Appeared on Amazon

New iPods and 3rd-party Lightning to 30-pin Adapters Have Appeared on Amazon

Accessories for the iPhone 5 have begun to show up online ahead of Friday’s launch of the new device. You can also pre-order the new iPod Touch and iPod nano from Amazon.com.

AppleInsider:

As of Monday, resellers on Amazon were offering a pair of new Lightning to 30-pin adapters made by third parties. …Available for purchase are the new fifth-generation iPod touch, the seventh-generation iPod nano with multi-touch display, and the fifth-generation iPod shuffle.

The Nanotch adapter ($17.95) has a male Lightning port on one end, and a female 30-pin device port on the other. They are connected by a 20-centimeter cord.

Also available is the iTronz USB Sync Data/Charging adapter ($9.99). It features a male Lightning plug on one side, with a female 30-pin port on the other, and on this adapter, the two are connected by a single solid plastic piece instead of a wire.

Apple does sell its own Lightning to 30-pin adapter and cable, but those accessories were gone almost immediately after going on sale last week.

Amazon is also taking pre-orders for Apple’s new iPod lineup. The new fifth-generation iPod touch, the seventh-generation iPod nano with multi-touch display, and the fifth-generation iPod shuffle are all available for pre-order.

Apple has said the new iPods will ship sometime in October.

The iPod touch and nano, in addition to the iPhone 5, all use the new Lightning port.
