Apple has already mentioned that they are “blown away” with pre-order demand for the iPhone 5, which sold over 2 million units in the first 24 hours! AT&T also issued a press release stating that the iPhone 5 is their most successful launch ever as well!

AT&T set a sales record with iPhone 5 over the weekend, making it the fastest-selling iPhone the company has ever offered. Customers ordered more iPhones from AT&T than any previous model, both on its first day of preorders and over the weekend.
It has become a common occurrence for Apple to sell out of iPhone pre-orders, and the latest iPhone has broken sales records at Apple and each official carrier with each new model so far. By comparison Apple sold over 1 million pre-orders for the iPhone 4S in its first 24 hours.
The iPhone 5 sold out on Apple’s website in less than an hour, and sold out at AT&T and Verizon within 12 hours.
