Japanese Thieves Steal $100,000 Worth Of iPhone 5s

There are three ways you can get your iPhone 5 early, it turns out. Aside from pre-ordering and queuing, you can also steal $100,000 worth, as some Japanese thieves have done, The Wall Street Journal reports.

A total of 191 iPhones were stolen, amounting to over $100,000. The raids were spread mostly across various stores, including carrier KDDI as well as Softbank Corp and an au store.

Softbank was hit particularly hard, with all of its stock (116 iPhones) wiped out.

Video footage showed the raids, but the authorities have yet to see it and it is unclear how many different suspects there are.

This is sure to complicate an already stressful launch in Japan, and add to iPhone shortages in the Osaka region.
