When Apple announced the iPhone 5 they also announced a few accessories they would be making available. The accessories included a 30-pin to Lightning adapter, a USB cable, and an HDMI and VGA cable. Oddly enough, there was no mention of an iPhone 5 Dock.
In an e-mail sent to 9to5Mac, Apple senior vice president of Marketing, Phil Schiller, confirmed to a customer that Apple actually has no plans to make a dock connector for the iPhone 5. His response was, ”We do not plan on making a dock for the iPhone 5. Most people who use docks use them with speaker or clock systems.”
Traditionally, Apple has always made an iPhone dock for it’s new iPhone models, but it looks like any iPhone 5 users who want some dock love will have to go to third-party vendors.
Then get this, Schiller signed the email with “Sent from my iPhone 5,” the son of a gun already has his!
