Sparrow for iOS to Get iPhone 5 Update, Despite Being Acquired by Google

Popular alternative mail app Sparrow was recently acquired by Google, and at the time, it was made known that no further updates would be released for their iOS or Mac apps. According to a tweet by Sparrow CEO Dom Leca, however, Sparrow for iPhone will indeed be getting one last update for iPhone 5 compatibility.

The tweet was initially noticed and reported by TheNextWeb, and should come as good news for fans of the app. Leca and the Sparrow team are currently working for Google’s Gmail division – and it’s great to see that Google and the Sparrow team cared enough for users of Sparrow to issue one last update.

It’s unclear exactly when the update will be released. Sparrow for iOS continues to remain available for $2.99 in the iOS App Store (link).
