Apple Preparing to Seed First OS X 10.8.3 Beta to Developers

Following Apple’s release of the OS X 10.8.2 update about six weeks ago, Apple now appears to be preparing the next update for early testing. According to AppleInsider, Apple has begun sending invitations to members of the AppleSeed program inviting them to test OS X 10.8.3.

Considering Apple’s typical time frame between AppleSeed testing and the time a beta is seeded to developers, it’s likely that we’ll see the first beta of 10.8.3 either late this week, or early next week.

It’s unclear what changes the update will bring, although it will likely be focused mostly on security and stability updates rather than the addition of new features.
