Apple Releases New 12W Power Adapter For Faster Charging Time

To go along with the 4th gen iPad and iPad mini, Apple has released a new 12W Power Adapter which delivers faster charging time and is compatible with all iPods, iPads and iPhones. Priced at $19, it’s definitely worth considering if you want a charging boost.

The extra power will definitely come in handy for the Retina display iPads, with 12W presumably the furthest Apple could go without turning the iPad into a hot plate when plugged in. Apple is also shipping the new adapter as standard with the 4th-gen iPad and iPad mini.

The adapter does not include a cable, so you can use either your own 30 pin or Lightning USB cable, which is good as you don’t have to spend more money than you need to. You get buy yourself one here.
