Apple’s Forstall Acknowledges iPhone 5 Flickering Glitch, Says Fix is on The Way

There’s a growing thread on the Apple discussion boards where numerous complaints are posted from owners about the annoying flicker glitch that seems to pop up along with the software keyboard when entering your password on the App Store. What’s being done about it?

iDownloadBlog:

A report out this morning first suggested that an incremental iOS 6.0.1 update, said to have entered testing, will fix this and other issues plaguing the iOS 6 software. iDB has now received another confirmation that a fix is in the works, via an alleged email exchange between a reader and Apple’s SVP Scott Forstall who’s in charge of the iOS platform…

iDownloadBlog reader Aaron R. was kind enough to share a response he received from the Apple Senior Vice President of iOS Software. Aaron touched base with Forstall about the flickering issue and asked the bigwig to specify if the problem was software, or hardware:

I am sure your guys know about this problem but I just wanted to ask one thing. On my iPhone 5 sometimes when I type my password into the App Store it has weird lines across the keyboard. Is this a hardware or software problem? If it is software will it be fixed in iOS 6.0.1?

Forstall apparently replied, (As seen in the screen grab above.):

Thanks. Yes, we have a fix.

Well, I guess that answers it. Short and sweet. Apple must charge for email use by the character.
