New iPod Touch and iPod Nano Begin Shipping to Customers

Apple has finally begun shipping the first pre-orders of the new iPod touch and iPod nano to customers, and has begun stocking the new iPods at Apple Stores. Both of the new iPods feature an all-new design and revamped specs.

We’ve confirmed on our own with several Apple Retail Stores that both the iPod nano and iPod touch are being stocked, although some stores had limited inventory, and one store reported that they had only received stock of the iPod touch, but not the nano.

Both of the new iPods sport Apple’s smaller Lightning connector as well, and the iPod nano has gained Bluetooth support for the first time for wireless audio streaming. Adding to suspicions that initial supplies are limited is the fact that Apple’s website still lists the shipping estimate as “October” rather that giving an estimate in days or weeks.
