iPhone Makes Up 77% of Smartphone Sales at AT&T in Q3 2012

iPhone Makes Up 77% of Smartphone Sales at AT&T in Q3 2012

AT&T has announced their financial results for the third quarter of 2012. The carrier activated 4.7 million iPhones during the quarter, an increase of one million over the previous quarter. The numbers were helped by the iPhone 5 launch at the end of the quarter.

MacRumors:

AT&T did not specifically break down iPhone 5 sales numbers, but did note that its overall postpaid sales numbers were impacted by “inventory constraints” on the device as Apple has struggled to keep up with demand.

The iPhone activations amounted to around 77% of AT&T’s total smartphone sales of 6.1 million during the quarter. More proof that Apple continues its domination of the AT&T smartphone sales. The iPhone made up 62% of all AT&T phone sales. (Both smartphones and feature phones.)

The carrier activated 4.7 million iPhones during the quarter, 18% for new customers. The company also had its best ever sales for Android and Windows smartphones.

Verizon announced its figures for the third quarter last week, Sprint will announce its numbers tomorrow morning. Apple will release their info tomorrow after the close of trading.
