Apple announced their new ultra-thin iMacs today, in both 21.5-inch and 27-inch sizes – but interestingly, while the smaller version of the iMac will be available starting in November, the 27-inch iMac won’t ship until December, according to the Apple Online Store.
The reason for the delays is unclear, but I suspect it’s likely related to supply issues with the 27-inch panels. That seems to be the most logical explanation to account for the difference in shipping times.

New iMacs make the current crop of iMacs look positively huge in comparison. I gotta say I’m impressed by how they are able to shoehorn everything into that wafer thin case.
