T-Mobile Stores Begin Stocking iPhone 5-Ready Nano-SIMs

T-Mobile has been quite vocal lately about wooing unlocked iPhone users to their network. The carrier recently unveiled new unlimited data plans, and has increasingly been stepping up their efforts to encourage users to switch.

According to TMONews, T-Mobile has once again taken things to the next level, and has now begun specifically targeting owners of unlocked iPhone 5s. The carrier is reportedly shipping iPhone 5 compatible nano-SIM cards to their retil stores so that users don’t have to alter a mini-SIM card to fit in the iPhone 5.

There are a number of advantages and disadvantages to using the iPhone 5 on T-Mobile’s network. T-Mobile has been rolling out improved iPhone-compatible 3G/4G data support for quite a while now, and has been improving their iPhone-related customer support services. With unlimited plans starting at just $70 per month, there’s some definite money-saving appeal as well. On the other hand, iPhone 5 users won’t be able to access LTE on T-Mobile, and high-speed data is unavailable in most areas.

While supply of the T-Mobile nano-SIMs is currently limited at this point, it’s likely that that will change in the near future. For users that have an unlocked iPhone 5 (or the Verizon iPhone 5), T-Mobile is becoming a more feasible alternative to other U.S. carriers all the time!
