Apple Confirms New Ultra-Thin iMacs Will Go on Sale This Friday, November 30

Apple officially announced this morning in a press release that the new ultra-thin iMacs will go on sale starting this Friday, November 30th. The 21.5-inch iMacs will become available in Apple Retail Stores and Apple’s online store that morning. The 27-inch models, on the other hand, won’t ship until sometime in December.

Fromm the press release:

Apple® today announced the all-new iMac® will be available on Friday, November 30. Featuring a stunning design, brilliant display with reduced reflection, faster processors and an innovative new storage option called Fusion Drive, the new iMac is the most advanced desktop Apple has ever made. The 21.5-inch iMac will be available through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. The 27-inch iMac will be available for order through the Apple Online Store and will begin shipping in December.

Apple first unveiled the new iMacs in San Francisco at their iPad mini event, although various delays have prevented the device from going on sale until November. The device sports an ultra-thin new design, a new thinner display with less reflection, USB 3.0, and perhaps most interesting, their new Fusion Drive technology, which uses an SSD as cache for a larger spinning hard drive to achieve greater speeds.

The 21.5-inch models will start at a retail price of $1299. While Apple is not accepting orders until Friday, we reported earlier this morning that third-party reseller MacMall is already accepting orders. Notable, MacMall offers the device tax free in most states.
