While Siri made a mark as the trend-setter – the first voice-control system on a smartphone that became mainstream (and inspired dozens of copies), Google’s Voice Search seems to be quickly gaining an edge over Siri in terms of both speed and accuracy.
Gizmodo shared the above video pitting Siri and Google Voice Search against one another side-by-side, and the results are interesting: Google Voice Search absolutely demolishes Siri. This is partly because Google controls both the search engine and the app itself – but that excuse only goes so far.
Apple made waves in the smartphone world with Siri , but they really haven’t done much with it since it was released. If Apple wants Siri to remain competitive, they’ve got their work cut out for them. Perhaps with Eddie Cue now in charge of Siri, Apple will start whipping their digital assistant into shape!
