Judge Pleads for ‘Global Peace’ Between Apple and Samsung

As the fiery legal battle between Apple and Samsung continues, many folks are just plain getting tired of hearing about it. It’s exhausting – like being bombarded with the issues of dueling divorcees on a regular basis. Apparently even Judge Lucy Koh, who is overseeing the case, is getting tired of it, and has made a plea for “global peace” between the two companies.

Late last week, Judge Koh expressed her sentiments in court. The Financial Times quotes Koh as stating the following:

I’m not joking . . . I’ve said this all along. I think it’s time for global peace . . . If there is any way this court can facilitate some sort of resolution, I’d like to do that. I think it would be good for consumers and good for the industry.

She’s not wrong, of course. It would be best for everyone if Apple and Samsung could resolve their differences amicably – and the sooner, the better. Judge Koh is currently reviewing the $1.05 billion that Samsung was ordered to pay Apple at the conclusion of their recent jury trial.

Can’t we all just get along?
