iOS 6 ‘evasi0n’ Untethered Jailbreak Set for Sunday Launch, Will Support All Current iOS Devices

The long-anticipated untethered iOS 6/6.1 jailbreak has officially been named evasi0n, and the jailbreak’s development team has now launched a new website to provide status updates leading up to the release. The site also hints at the previously rumored Superbowl Sunday release date for the jailbreak, with the calendar on all of the iOS devices in the site’s header image set to February 3rd:

According to the latest update, the jailbreak tool is now complete for Mac and iOS, with a linux version and some last-minute testing remaining as the only obstacles preventing a public release. According to the website, the jailbreak will require only 5 minutes to apply, and as previously noted, will support all current iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and iPad mini models (provided that they are running iOS 6 or later).

We’ll let you know as soon as we hear the jailbreak has officially launched. Are you ready for some iPhone 5 and iPad 4/iPad mini jailbreak action? I certainly am! Keep an eye on the official evasi0n website for the latest updates!
