First Supposed Part Leaks Surface for ‘iPhone 5S’ and ‘iPhone 6’

iPhone rumor season is in full swing, with all manner of claims regarding Apple’s supposed next-gen hardware – but so far there hasn’t been much in the way of actual hardware leaks. – until now. French website Nowhereelse.fr (via MacRumors, Google translation) shares images of what are claimed to be speaker components for an upcoming ‘iPhone 5S’ and ‘iPhone 6’.

The parts are similar to the corresponding iPhone 5 parts, but do feature several significant differences – the claimed ‘iPhone 6’ part is thicker than what is used in current iPhone hardware, for instance. It’s impossible to tell whether the parts are legitimate, of course – they could be for ANY device – an Apple prototype, or even a non-Apple device.

The report notes that the ‘iPhone 5S’ and ‘iPhone 6’ names are merely placeholders, and may not reflect the actual names for Apple’s next-gen iPhone hardware.  It’s worth noting that Nowhereelse.fr has release accurate part leak photos in the past – but even so, it’s worth exercising some caution until more verification surfaces for the leak.
