Steve Jobs Honored in Russia With Giant Memorial iPhone Sculpture

Adding to the many impressive monuments build in honor and memory of Steve Jobs, a massive new iPhone statue has been unveiled in St. Petersburg, Russia to pay tribute to the well-loved Apple co-founder. The tribute was designed by local native Gleb Tarasov, and plays back a slideshow with photos and video from Jobs’ life (via RIA Novosti, TUAW.

The monument is on display in the courtyard of the St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, and is the result of a competition between 200 entrants held last year by the Progress IT Fund to select a designer to create the tribute.

The back of the monument features a giant QR code, which takes viewers to a Steve Jobs memorial website when scanned.
