Amazon Says Don’t Install Latest Kindle for iOS Update, Optimizes Cloud Player for iPad

Amazon has made its Cloud Player available on the iPad and iPad mini. Oh, and that update they just released for the Kindle for iOS app? They say do NOT download that, unless you just particularly want to lose your digital libraries and settings.

Version 2.0 of Amazon’s music-streaming app hit the App Store on Wednesday, and the update notably included, aside from optimization, an updated look and new settings to manage cache size.

Amazon also released a debacle-of-an-update for its Kindle iOS app yesterday that intended to fix bugs and the registration process but instead deleted Amazon digital libraries and saved settings.

Amazon warns users away form the latest Kindle app update with the following warning in the app’s change log: “Note: There is a known issue with this update. If you are an existing Kindle for iOS user, we recommend you do not install this update at this time.”
