Infinity Blade: Dungeons Delayed (Again) After Closure Of Impossible Studios

Remember Infinity Blade: Dungeons? Honestly, I don’t blame you if you don’t as it’s been so long since we were shown a five minute demo of it at the iPad 3 event.

Epic Games has seemingly be really struggling to get itself together to finish the game, and it looks like it won’t be happening anytime soon after it was announced that Impossible Studios, the team behind the game, was going to be closed down (via The Verge).

Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney:

We’re closing Impossible Studios.

When former members of Big Huge Games approached Epic last year, we saw the opportunity to help a great group of people while putting them to work on a project that needed a team. It was a bold initiative and the Impossible folks made a gallant effort, but ultimately it wasn’t working out for Epic.

This means that Infinity Blade: Dungeons is now on hold as we figure out the future of the project.

Who knows if the Infinity Blade sequel will ever see the light of day. I hope something can be made of it, as it looked full of promise at the iPad event and I know for a fact many were looking forward to it.
