Samsung’s March 14th Event Will Launch Galaxy S4

Samsung has sent out invitations to a March 14th media event in New York City. The company is expected to rollout its latest generation of the Galaxy S handset lineup, the Galaxy 4S, or “GS4” as the cool kids are sure to refer to it.

AppleInsider:

After the invitations were sent out to a “Samsung Unpacked” event, CNet was able to confirm that the company is planning to show off the Galaxy S4. The invitation also strongly hints at the device, with the tagline “Ready 4 the Show.”

The expected addition to Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup will be Samsung’s flagship smartphone, a direct competitor to Apple’s popular iPhone.

The Galaxy S3 managed to nose ahead of the iPhone 4S in late 2012. But, after the launch of the iPhone 5, the Galaxy’s popularity waned and the iPhone 5 and 4S were champs once again in the smartphone popularity race.

The Galaxy 4S is rumored to contain an 8-core Exynox processor along with a separate 8-core graphics processor. Other features are rumored to be a 4.99-inch SuperAMOLED display, 2 gigabytes of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel forward facing camera, and Android 4.2.2, Jelly Bean. (That’s the name of the Android OS version, not my pet name for you.)
