Google I/O Sells Out In 50 Minutes, Faster Than WWDC

It seems now that if you want to go to Apple and Google developer conferences, you not only need to be skilled with the code, you need to fast with the fingers. Tickets for Google I/O went on sale today, only to sell out 50 minutes later, which is half as long as it took for Appleā€™s WWDC event.

It will take place from May 15-17 in the Moscone Center in SF, with the main attraction expected to be Google Glass. I/O is an extremely popular conference, because anyone who goes gets a free unit of everything. For instance, last year attendees got a Nexus 7, Nexus Q, Galaxy Nexus and Chromebox all on the house.

Believe it or not, I/O sold out even quicker last year, in 20 minutes. It will be very interesting to see if Google talks about anything other than Google Glass. Any more smartphones or tablets on the way?
