Plants Vs Zombies 2 Coming This Summer

Originally anounced to launch in the spring, the release of Plants vs Zombies 2 is now slated for ‘early summer 2013’, meaning fans of the popular game will have a little longer to wait. In a press release (via Cult of Android), PopCap also revealed a limited beta of Plants vs Zombies Adventures on Facebook.

From the press release:

This marks the second imminent new installment in the Plants vs. Zombies franchise, as PopCap also confirmed today that Plants vs. Zombies 2, the sequel to the original blockbuster game, is slated to launch in early summer.

Launch time aside, nobody knows anything about the sequel, but we can take some educated guesses. New features, new plants, new zombies, and it might even be freemium, something that EA has started doing with other games recently.  We should find out more in the coming months.
