Steve Jobs Gets His Own Opera

This is when you know you’ve made it. The Lyon Opera in France will be staging Steve V, an opera which crosses the life of Steve Jobs with the destiny of Shakespeare’s Henry V, Tribune de Lyon reports (via MacGeneration). Created by Roland Auzet, it will be performed from the 14 to the 18th of March at the Renaissance Theater in Oullins, a suburb of Lyon.

From the official page (translation):

Opera is all about torn human beings and the links they have with the world: Steve Jobs, Henry V. The piece is composed around two biographies, two itineraries, similar, but separated by five centuries: two ways of communicating, two ways to confront reality while inventing it. Steve Jobs has created what Shakespeare called ‘the brightest heaven of invention’; the destiny of Silicon Valley against the historical fresco of Henry V; an economic, commercial and technological war against the war of pieces of steel in pieces of flesh, corporate strategy against warrior strategy.

It certainly seems intriguing, and has been called a ‘multimedia’ opera by Auzet, the creator. We’ll see how it goes, but it might be worth a look. You can find out more here (in French).
