Google Gives iOS Devs Some Love With Chrome Integration Tools

Google is showing some love to iOS developers who want to use a browser other than Apple’s default Safari mobile browser with their apps, as they announced on Tuesday a way for the devs to integrate Chrome with their iOS apps.

Chrome team blog, via GigaOM:

With Chrome’s OpenInChromeController class with x-callback, users can open a web page in Chrome and then return to your app with just one tap.

Developers who opt to have their links open in Chrome also get a nice little back button labeled with their app’s name for their extra effort.

So, even though Apple doesn’t allow users to set any browser other than Safari as their iOS default browser, Google is coming up with ways for developers to create a more Google-like experiences for their users.
