Google Updates Gmail iOS App With Category-Based Inbox, Improved Notifications & More

Google has updated its official Gmail app for iOS. The update includes the addition of a category-based inbox already available on other platforms, and also improved notification options for users.

AppleInsider:

The new notification options promise to alert users to all messages, only important messages, or none at all on an account-specific basis. Users can customize these settings from the in-app settings page.

And the new inbox, when enabled, groups mail into categories, allowing users to see what’s new at a glance and more easily decide which emails to read.

Primary mail is shown first, while emails in other categories can be viewed via the menu. The feature can be configured at gmail.com using a Mac or PC.

Gmail for iOS is available FREE for the iPhone and iPad in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
