There are, of course, already a whole bunch of shopping apps that scan barcodes, but it’ll now be something any developer can easily add to any relevant app. Apple hasn’t yet incorporated the functionality into the stock iOS 7 camera app.
Being the investigative journalist I am, my first though upon seeing this news was how come no love for iTunes Store users? But fear not, oh musically inclined ones, the camera looks to work just fine in the iTunes Store as well, so rest your fingers and let the magic of OCR do your work for you.
