Apple E-Book Damages Trial Set for May 2014

U.S. District Court Judge Denise Cote, who is presiding over the Department of Justice’s antitrust case against Apple’s e-book pricing policies, issued an order on Tuesday for all involved parties to be ready for a damages trial, tentatively scheduled for May 2014.

AppleInsider:

Judge Cote in July found Apple guilty of conspiring with five major U.S. book publishers to raise the price of e-books sold through the iBookstore, an allegation lodged against the company by the Department of Justice.

Along with the DoJ, the plaintiffs in the case include 33 U.S. states and territories.

Plaintiffs will be required to identify experts and expert testimony by October 11, 2013, and Apple must do the same by November 15, 2013. Expert discovery will conclude by December 13th, the same day class certification is due.

Parties must be trial ready and ready to proceed on 24 hours notice by May 2014.
